THE JOURNEY how to achieve against the odds
ROWING IT ALONE paperback
*New Book* The Journey (ISBN 978-0-9556186-0-4)
There were three other men's crews that had one rower rescued with the other rower giving it a go solo.  None of them made it across the Atlantic  alone and yet Debra did.  The Journey is Debra’s account of her epic solo row across the Atlantic and, in particular, the strategies she used to achieve what should have been an impossible goal.  Ultimately this book is about how to achieve against the odds.

'Rowing it Alone' (ISBN 1-86105-678-8 )
Foreword by Sir Chay Blyth.  This is the full story of Debra and Andrew's Atlantic adventure.  Debra writes honestly of her home background, family struggles with cancer and why she seeks out these challenges.  She shares the huge highs and the deepest of lows of all that occurred throughout her 3 1/2 month voyage and what it was finally like to be reunited again with her family.  It is a fascinating account of an inner and outer journey.  We guarantee this book will make you laugh and cry for all the right reasons!
There are very few copies available of the paperback version of Rowing it Alone as the print run has now sold out.  We bought up the last remaining stock but we are down to the last 100.
Debra explains: “Somewhere along the journey something powerful happened – a realisation that I was capable of more. More hardship. More challenges. More joy.  More determination. More attitude. More attainment.  My hope is that through this book you too will seek more.  Most of the strategies I relied on I know can be used in any situation in life.  I'm certain of this because I still rely on them daily myself.
Reader Feedback: "Really enjoyed reading your book... You've really inspired me to focus on working towards a few goals I'd always thought could be nothing but pipe dreams."  Helen White

READER FEEDBACK
I know time has slipped by and the book is old but I just read it.  I picked it up while visiting the local library and took it for an easy read...in fact, I don't know why I picked it up, for the warning on front made it clear it was not about rowing.  However, took it home, started to read it a t 4:00 pm and read it through till 1:30 am.  I cried for the better part of the book, apparently an act I needed to go through.  I loved adventure books as a boy particularly Homers: Odyssey.  This book was the adventure book I have been looking for a very very long time. May this note simply say that what all the others have already said.........Thanks for sharing your personal struggle and making it a human act.......I will promote your book for the rest of my life.  Steve from Ontario, Canada

The Journey
READER FEEDBACK
I have just finished your book, The Journey, and found it a great read.  “Great” for many reasons but the main ones for me were:
  1. the enormous challenge and your courage to take on that challenge
  2. the great learnings you had about yourself during it – experiencing absolute despair and finding ways to deal with it
  3. the relevance of it to all our lives because we all face challenges of various kinds and it’s how we handle these that will bring us through – just as you did
  4. the messages of hope we can all take from your experience
  5. not losing sight of the fact that our experiences will strengthen us when we choose our attitude
  6. the joy of achieving your goal
Let me thank you for the effort you made and the inspiration you provided and continue to provide to people.   I will give your book to friends and talk about it to others I meet in business.  Rhoda, Dublin

READER FEEDBACK
What a wonderful book! I couldn't put it down. Very rarely do I read a book that has such an effect on me and this one certainly broke the mould. Debra's descriptive ability, not only in terms of the extraordinary surroundings she found herself in but also her depiction of the emotional roller-coaster she found herself on, will leave you speechless. The tale is one of battling against the odds and sometimes against her own better judgement - and definitely one you will be recommending to all your friends. Davinia  Ankerson, Southampton
