Today ‘adventure’ is a profession for Debra but her passion for adventure and the outdoors was kindled many years ago during her days at Stover School. Superbly positioned on the edge of Dartmoor, Debra spent most weekends hill walking on the moors. As a youngster Debra successfully completed both Bronze and Silver Ten Tors Expeditions and her Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. By the age of 16 Debra was fascinated by explorers such as Ranulph Finnes and Chris Bonnington and dreamed of one day being able to make a living out of expeditions in the way that they have.

Five mountain peaks by pedal power only - in less than 12 hours - non stop.  In a bid to throw herself in at the deep end Debra joined Team OC to take part in the 2007 and 2009 L’Etape du Tour - carbon copies of a mountain stage of the Tour de France. More | Gallery | Movies

After winning bronze and silver medals at the World Champs with the GB Dragon Boat Team in 1999, Debra breathed fresh life into her dragon boating days by skippering an all-female team, known as The Sisterhood, in a World Record crossing of the English Channel. More | Gallery | Movies

This has, without a doubt, been one of the hardest adventure sports Debra has turned her hand to as she had no previous sailing experience.  Check out the movie of Debra’s sail around Antarctica  for a shocking display of just how rough the Southern Ocean can be! More | Gallery | Movie

Debra was heralded "…Britain's latest sporting heroine." (The Times) when the media worldwide went crazy for the story of the 5ft 5" young lady who carried on rowing alone when her rowing partner, a 6 ft 5" top-level club oarsman, left the boat after developing an uncontrollable fear of the ocean. For 15 years canoeing and kayaking have played a big part in Debra's life.  It's always there in one form or another... long races, short races, playing in the surf or teaching kids to paddle. The highlight was partnering old friend Bruce Parry in the Worlds Longest Canoe Race, filmed by the BBC. More | Gallery | Movie
